Tipasa renalis Moore
Corgatha renalis Moore, [1885] 1884-1887: 242.
Diagnosis
The species is superficially like a smaller, browner Parolulis olivescens Hampson (see below), but the obliqueness of the pale forewing postmedial that bounds a subapical dark brown triangle on the costa, is reflected in the obliqueness of the dark brown discal mark. An irregular, pale zig-zag submarginal encloses a dark brown area in the interior half of the marginal zone.
The distal margin is slightly angled centrally.
Taxonomic note
The male genitalia are similar to those of the type species but the uncus is narrower and the apical part of the valve is shorter, the more dorsal process more acute.
Geographical range
Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Borneo.
Habitat preference
The only Bornean specimen seen is a male from lowland dipterocarp forest at 300m near the Rampayoh river in Brunei.
