Diagnosis

This species is larger than conceptaria, with fine linear fasciae. The forewing postmedial is diagnostically angled at one third from the costa, and the hindwing antemedial is straight.

Taxonomic Notes

In external features the species resembles Psilalcis pulveraria Wileman comb. n. from Taiwan, but in its male genitalia it is very close to P. conspicuata Moore comb. n., the type species of Paralcis. A feature of all is the presence of a superuncus, seen also in some other taxa in the complex. The female genitalia have the signum weak, a scobinate, U-shaped zone of sclerotisation.

Himalaya, W. China, Burma, Borneo.

Habitat Preference

Records from G. Kinabalu were from 1620m and 1760m but during the Mulu survey a few specimens were taken in lower montane forest at 1000m on G. Mulu, and one in lower montane forest at 900m on G. Api.
