Diagnosis
See above. The male lacks a fovea. Confusion with Dilophodes elegans is possible, but P. xanthura is larger, lacks a discal spot on the hindwing, has the dark markings more crisply defined; they are more regularly spaced along the forewing costa.
Taxonomic Notes
Reasons for combining this species with Pogonopygia are given in the generic description. The Bornean subspecies has darker grey markings than the typical race.
