Diagnosis
This species may be distinguished from its congeners and Dilophodes elegans Butler by the strong discal spot and the more regular markings of the marginal and submarginal bands of the hindwing. In the male the forewing is narrowed, with a fovea.
Biology
The larva is illustrated in Sugi (1987). It is stout, pale green, with numerous prominent, pale edged, blue-black spots. The host-plant in Japan is Illicium (Illiciaceae).
