Pangrapta hyriona Hampson
*Stenozethes hyriona *Hampson, 1926, Descr. Gen. Spec. Noctuinae, p. 556.
Diagnosis
The forewings are a very dark grey with the usual fasciation of the genus present but obscurely darker. The hindwing postmedial and submarginal have a slightly paler edging narrowly on their distal sides and, though very irregular in course, remain about the same distance apart, and enclose a band of dark, rusty red.
Taxonomic note
The eighth segment of the female genitalia lacks setae except at its posterior margin, but is closely associated with the seventh segment and the ostium in a similar manner to that seen in the Throana group of genera, the seventh segment having a pair of lateral pockets. The corpus bursae is spherical, unornamented. The forewing orbicular stigma is enlarged on the underside as in some members of the Throana group. The type species of Stenozethes is typical of Pangrapta, however.
Geographical range
Borneo.
Habitat preference
Only two females are known, the holotype from Pulo Laut and one from hill dipterocarp forest at 500m on G. Mulu.
