Diagnosis
See Panacra dohertyi Rothschild and Panacra automedon Walker. The forewing margin is more excavate between the apex and central angle; the pale subapical zig-zag is barely evident.
Geographical range
Sundaland.
Habitat preference
The species has only been noted in the lowlands. It is infrequent.
Biology
The larva was described and illustrated by Dupont & Roepke (1941). Newly hatched, the larva is pale green with a straight red horn.
In the fourth instar it is either pale green with three dorsal dark green bands, or greyish brown with a broad dark brown dorsal area, the horn pale red or blackish brown with a grey tip respectively.
The ocellar markings are black, ringed with white.
The host-plant recorded (Dupont & Roepke) was Curculigo (Hypoxidaceae).
