Oruza crocodetoides Holloway sp. n.

Image of [object Object] Holloway ♀ (paratype)
♀ (paratype)

♀♀ 11-12mm. The facies is typical of the genus as described above, and perhaps closest to that of crocodeta Turner (Queensland) in having the medial zone of the forewing suffused grey apart from grading to pure ground colour thinly on each side of the bounding fasciae and being absent over the linear discal mark. Additionally in the new species there is a strip of ground colour adjacent to the buff costal margin within this medial zone, and the discal mark has a white fleck associated with its posterior half. The antemedial and postmedial are bowed away from the medial zone in crocodetoides, but straight or slightly bowed towards it in crocodeta. Whilst the facies is typical of Oruza, the male genitalia show the features characteristic of the unusual trio of species discussed in the generic account and represented by lacteicosta described below: a slender spine arising dorsally from the uncus; a large cucullus to the valve, a single central process that extends right across it.
