Diagnosis

This species is similar to cornucopia Hampson, the only other species apart from columbina that may have a distinct white spot in the head-like marking, here resembling the beak of an eagle. The species is smaller than cornucopia, with a stronger curvature along the dorsal to basal border of the beak marking.

Geographical range

Borneo.

Habitat preference

All three specimens are from lowland dipterocarp forest in the G. Mulu National Park, Sarawak.
