Diagnosis

The forewing medial is much more transverse, less oblique than in other taxa with similar facies. The distortion of the male venation is conspicuous. Some variants have an irregular greyish blotch at the tornus of both fore- and hindwings.

Taxonomic Notes

Meyrick comb. n . is the Australasian tropical sister-species, found from New Guinea to the Solomons and Queensland. A third species in the group is M. harrietae Robinson comb. n . (Fiji).

Geographical Range

Oriental tropics to Borneo, Sumatra, Sulawesi.

Habitat Preference

The species is uncommon. The few specimens taken in recent surveys have been from the lowlands: secondary forest in Brunei and a Eucalyptus deglupta plantation in Sabah.
