Image of Mesotrophe curtisi Prout ♀

Mesotrophe curtisi Prout comb. n.

Anisodes curtisi Prout, 1920, Novit. zool., 27: 303.

Diagnosis

The facies is much as in many Perixera Meyrick species, such as P. roseofusa Warren and P. ochraria Warren, but the general colour is slightly pinker, the fasciae more diffuse, less oblique on the forewing, where the discal spot is diagnostically pale-centred (P. dotilla Swinhoe and P. flavispila Warren have this feature but are paler pinkish grey, with the hindwing discal spot prominent).

Taxonomic Notes

The venation of the male forewing is not modified but the genitalia indicate that curtisi is a Mesotrophe: the separated digitate uncus processes; the quadrate valves; the broad, short aedeagus.

Geographical Range

Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo.

Habitat Preference

Two Waterstradt specimens without altitude data from G. Kinabalu have been seen.
