Diagnosis

See the previous species. The forewing antemedial is pale, delineated with black on either side. There is a complex blackish zone on the forewing dorsum just interior to the brown border. The hindwing has a discal spot and an entire antemedial band.

Taxonomic Notes

The aedeagus is distinguished by a symmetrical pair of curved spines at the apex: the curvature is much stronger in a Sumatran male relative to one from China.

Geographical Range

W. and S. China, N. Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.

Habitat Preference

During the Mulu survey two specimens were taken at 1000m in lower montane forest on G. Mulu. There are two further specimens from the vicinity of Ranau, Sabah in the Forest Research Centre collection, Sepilok.
