Idiochlora pudentifimbria Prout

Diplodesma pudentifimbria Prout, 1912 a: 185.

Diagnosis

This is the most Hemithea-like of the Bornean species, but the white fasciae are more linear than in that genus.

The male genitalia are diagnostic, with the saccular process of the valve unusually globular and coarsely scobinate.

Taxonomic Notes

Only a female is known from Borneo, but its genitalia correspond well with those of a typical Himalayan specimen.

The saccular feature and general facies are shared by I. ussuriaria, the Chinese I. mundaria Leech and the Himalayan I. planata Prout.

Geographical range

N.E. Himalaya, Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo.

Habitat preference

The single Bornean specimen is from Pulo Laut, a low lying island at the north of Borneo.

Biology

See generic description for account of the related I. ussuriaria.
