Hypomecis dentigerata Warren

Diagnosis
The wings have a pale grey ground, regularly mottled and fasciated with dark bluish grey and brown, the fasciae finely and regularly dentate. In most specimens there is a conspicuous pale central interruption to the forewing submarginals. This pale spot is sometimes evident also in the dark border of the underside.
Taxonomic Notes
Sato (1988) indicated this species to be a typical Hypomecis. However, the valve of the male genitalia has two digitate processes that are apically spined, rather than the usual opposed bands. The tegumen lacks processes. The aedeagus does terminate in dentate sclerotised bands. The female genitalia lack a signum, and the basal half of the bursa is strongly convolute and scobinate.
Geographical Range
Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat Preference
The species is infrequent in lowland and lower montane forest, slightly commoner in the latter.
