Heteropan hantu Holloway sp. n.

Image of Heteropan hantu Holloway ♂ (paratype)
♂ (paratype)

♂♀ 5-6mm.

The smallest Bornean species, hantu has the forewings a very pale grey, almost white, except for a dark grey, almost black distal marginal band that extends round the apex to the distal third of the costa. It contains a pale blue iridescent band centrally, and similar scales are scattered over the basal part of the costa. The inner border of this margin grades into the pale grey as a rich, dark brown. The hindwings are a uniform medium grey, as is the underside, except the forewing is again darkened at the margin. The male genitalia have the valves more ovate, with short, erect basal processes. The saccus is as long as in leesi.
