Gyrtona pseudoquadratifera Holloway sp. n.
Diagnosis
♂♀ 10-13mm.
This species is like a grey version of the previous one and also resembles quadratifera to some extent in facies though it never has the dark medial band sometimes shown by that species.
It differs from lapidarioides in lacking the diffuse, narrow, pale stria that bisects the forewing apex.
In the male genitalia the valves are much as in quadratifera but the harpe is distinctly longer and slightly bulbous apically.
The bursa copulatrix of the female has a prominent signum consisting of a scobinate invagination, lacking in quadratifera; the ostium bursae is flanked by a pair of anteriorly directed membranous lobes.

15 examples with general data as holotype and various mainly montane localities, BM noctuid slides 11478 (♂), 11505 (♀).
Geographical range
Borneo, ?Peninsular Malaysia (specimen seen but not dissected in collection of Mr H.S. Barlow).
Habitat preference
The species was taken infrequently in lower and upper montane forest on both G. Mulu and G. Api, and singly at Long Pala in the lowlands.
