Euproctis citrinula van Eecke
Euproctis citrinula van Eecke, 1928, Zool. Meded. Leiden, 11: 115.
Diagnosis
Only worn material has been taken in Borneo, resembling Micromorphe chalcostoma, Artaxa phaula and some Orvasca species in what can be seen of the facies: grey wings diffusing yellow towards the margins.
The male genitalia are distinctive, particularly the rectangular, cap-like structure to the uncus and the short, spanner-like aedeagus.
Taxonomic Notes
The three Bornean specimens are distinctly grey and larger than typical *citrinula,*which has uniform yellow forewings and paler yellow hindwings.
The original description included reference to Borneo, so it is possible two species may be involved.
The structure of the genitalia is virtually identical, however.
The male abdomen lacks tymbals.
The modification of the uncus and aedeagus is not unlike that seen in Sundaroa Gen. n., which also lacks tymbals.
Geographical range
Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference
All four specimens were taken on the limestone G. Api, three at 250-270m and one at 900m.
