Diagnosis
This species shows extreme sexual dimorphism. Males are unmistakeable, with transverse broad orange bands on the forewing (very rarely edged with some black) being disrupted by a long and conspicuous fringe of scales extending back from the costa. Females are like a small version of those of conclusa or **malayensis, but have the postmedial black edge mostly straight, but angled obtusely towards the apex at the costal end. The antemedial black edge meets the dorsum at an acute angle basad as in malayensis rather than at an obtuse one as in conclusa.
