Bocula inconclusa Walker
Agrotis inconclusa Walker, 1862, J. Linn. Soc. (Zool.), 6: 186.
Aramuna lutosa Swinhoe; 1890, Trans. ent. Soc. London, 1890: 225.
Diagnosis
The male hindwing modification in this and the next species is similar to that of the previous two species, but the forewing lacks an extensive marginal black area; in inconclusait is mainly uniform straw-buff, though slightly variegated transversely with darker brown. The inner edge of the marginal zone is faintly evident, curved, without a notch, somewhat oblique and, in inconclusa, with darker shading distad. In both species the hindwing grades slightly darker at the margin. The male hind-tibia in both also bears a conspicuous fan of scales that is buff basally, grading darker and greyer distad.
Geographical range
Borneo, Burma.
Habitat preference
All recently collected Bornean material, three older specimens and possibly the type are from Kuching in Sarawak, so presumably the species is characteristic of highly disturbed or cultivated habitats in the lowlands.
