Diagnosis

This species is generally marked as in the alpheusalis complex, but has the antemedial and postmedial of the forewing arcuate within each of the spaces, the concavity directed away from the medial zone and irregularly filled with black. The male antennae are fasciculate, more broadly so towards the base. The male labial palps are very much shorter, the apex of the third segment only reaching the back of the head. The foretibia is only moderately tufted.

Geographical range

Sumatra, Bali, Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Philippines.

Habitat preference

This is a frequent species of lowland forest, but has been recorded up to 1000m. Chey (1994) found it to be abundant in a variety of softwood plantations near Brumas in the lowlands of Sabah.
