Diagnosis

This species is distinguished by the dull ochreous tinge to the rather streaky forewings, traversed by irregular darker fasciae; the reniform is darker brown; the aedeagus vesica is bifid and bears two blunt cornuti as illustrated.

Taxonomic Notes

The two names brought into synonymy are based on specimens from New Guinea similar in facies and male genitalia to cinctipalpis; deletoides has slightly greyer forewings but is probably only a form. A. rufibasis Warren from the Solomon Is. is similar externally but has a more developed male eighth sternite - a more sclerotised stem leading to a splayed, bifurcate apex bearing the spines.

Geographical range

Indian subregion, Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Philippines, New Guinea, Queensland.

Habitat preference

A single specimen was taken in an agricultural area at 1200m on G. Kinabalu, and five at 150m in hill dipterocarp forest on G. Mulu.
