Diagnosis
The subtornal white spot on the forewing and the white basal area of the hindwing distinguish this species from congeners.
Geographical range
Indian subregion, Thailand, Andamans, Borneo, Sulawesi; albibasis Wileman & West from the Philippines may be synonymous.
Habitat preference
Bornean material is restricted to a single specimen from upper montane forest at 1618m on Bukit Retak, Brunei.
Biology
Gardner (1948a) described the larva.
The head is testaceous brown.
The body skin is not definitely pigmented but the pronotum, pinacula and legs are dark brown and the spiracles are pale ochreous with fine black veins.
Gardner gave Bursera and Garuga (Burseraceae) as larval hosts and CIE records show the species to feed on Anacardium in India.
