Procridini
Tribe Details
Monophyly of this tribe, as indicated in the previous section, has yet to be established, and it is probably paraphyletic with respect to the Artonini, though the molecular analysis of Niehuis et al. (2006) indicated at least some cohesion. It would therefore seem to be a logical temporary resting place for the genus Inouela Efetov, transferred to the Procridinae from the Chalcosiinae by Yen et al. (2005).
In the checklist of Efetov & Tarmann (1995), the genus Chrysartona Swinhoe is also assigned to the Procridini, but they later (Efetov & Tarmann, 2008: 7) placed it in the Artonini; it has one species in Borneo.
The valve of the male genitalia is usually strongly sclerotised costally and ventrally, separated by a medio-distal translucent part. Where appendages occur, they arise from these sclerotised parts and are immobile.
