Inouela Efetov

Type species: formosensis Efetov, Taiwan.

This genus was originally placed (Efetov, 1999) in the Chalcosiinae, but Yen (2003) and Yen et al. indicated in an editorial footnote to Yen (2003) that the structure of the male genitalia of Inouela rendered it unlikely to be a procrídine, an opinion affirmed by G.M. Tarmann (pers. comm.), who stated that the male genitalia are clearly chalcosiine.

The checklist of Yen et al. (2005) listed an undescribed species from Borneo, but it has not been possible to investigate this further by examination of material.
