Xerodes pilosa Holloway sp. n.
♂ 29mm. The coloration of this species is as in lignicolor but the size as in ypsaria. The forewings are more rounded than in ypsaria and rather narrow. The centre of the hindwing margin is bluntly angular, and the wing itself is somewhat pilose on the underside distal to the disc and in a shallow, puckered, longitudinal valley along the dorsum (seen also in ypsaria). The facies is chocolate brown with faintly darker hindwing postmedials and blackish discal spots. In the abdomen the distal margin of the fourth sternite is broadly bilobed, bearing a dense pilosity. In the genitalia the valves are deep, the saccular spur strong, central to the margin (at two thirds in lignicolor). The juxta lacks setae. The aedeagus is stout, the cornutus large, associated with an elongate group of small spines.
