Geographical range
Indian Subregion, China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Borneo, Java, Sulawesi, S. Moluccas.
Habitat preference
Only two specimens have been recorded in recent surveys, both from upper montane forest: at 1770m on Bukit Monkobo in Sabah; at 1780m on G. Mulu.
Biology
Sugi (1987) illustrated the larva. It appears to be identical to that illustrated for T. coronata Fabricius and described below.
The host-plants noted by Sugi, by Miyata (1983) and by Robinson et al. 2001) were Castanea, Quercus (Fagaceae), Juglans and Pterocarya (Juglandaceae).
The adult is a fruit piercer in Thailand (Bänziger, 1982; Kuroko & Lewvanich, 1993).
