Squamura acutistriata Mell

Diagnosis
This species is larger and darker than the rest, the hindwings dark grey and the forewings fawn, mottled with dark grey and some black, within which can be detected a large discal ellipse of grey.
Geographical Range
Java, ?Borneo.
Habitat Preference
The only Bornean specimen, a female, was taken at Seria in Brunei, in a mixture of coastal vegetation and secondary forest.
Biology
The larva of the species was originally taken boring in branches of cocoa (Theobroma, Sterculiaceae) but has not been recorded from that crop subsequently, only from Albizia (Leguminosae) (Roepke 1957).
