Diagnosis

The pale yellow hindwings combined with grey forewings in the male are diagnostic.

The hair pencil on the dorsum of the hindwing is weak.

The female forewing resembles that of the male, but the hindwing is dark grey with paler areas and a rather sinuous postmedial.

The forewing postmedial is similarly sinuous in both sexes with a slight black fleck within the distal bulge at one third from the dorsum.

Geographical range

Indo-Australian tropics from Sri Lanka to New Guinea.

Habitat preference

Most material has been taken in a wide range of lowland forest types, where the species is often frequent.

Two specimens were taken at 1000m on G. Mulu and one at 1200m on G. Kinabalu (Bundu Tuhan).
