Diagnosis

The facies is similar to that of Zamarada species but distinguished by a brighter red colour to the borders which extends down the dorsums of fore- and hindwings. The interior margin of the border is sinuous rather than with a single indentation, the sinuousity marked by a greyish band that is edged red on each side. There is a yellowish subapical spot to the forewing.

Geographical Range

N.E. Himalaya, Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo.

Habitat Preference

Records have been made in forested localities from the lowland to the upper montane zone, with perhaps the greatest frequency in lower montane forest at about 1000m.
