Diagnosis
The species has a black spot in the small rectangular lobe at the anterior of the hindwing tail. The hindwing has a submarginal band as well as the more longitudinal medial one.
Taxonomic Notes
In Sulawesi there is a species externally similar to podaliriata but with distinct male genitalia (BM geometrid slide 13893).
Geographical Range
Himalaya, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo, Java.
Habitat Preference
On G. Kinabalu a single specimen was taken at 1050m. A singleton was recorded in forest on limestone at 250m (G. Api) during the Mulu survey, and another has been taken at Temburong in the lowlands of Brunei.
O. podaliriata* appears to be the rarest Bornean species.
