Ophthalmodes exemptaria Walker, 1860, List Specimens lepid. Insects Colln Br. Mus., 21: 447.
Ophthalmodes suppressaria Walker, 1866, Ibid, 35: 1595.
Diagnosis
The wings are a uniform pale green that is only lightly marked with dark fasciae and discal rings, only the submarginals being prominent.
Taxonomic Notes
The male genitalia are similar to those of the Indian O. pertusaria Felder, a larger, more heavily marked insect, sharing a broad longitudinal zone of scobination on the sacculus. However, the valve costa is more sinuous, the uncus narrower, square-ended, with more elongate basal processes laterally but lacking subapical lateral triangular flanges. The processes on the eighth sternite are very slender, acute, rather than broad and rounded. The female has a strongly sclerotised, marginally scrolled ductus and a distinctive crinkled zone at the ostium.
