Diagnosis
The facies of this species, with its yellow patches on dark brown, is distinctive, though possibly mimetic, resembling species in the syntomine arctiid genus Amata Fabricius, already treated in this series, in Darantasia Walker (see Darantasia Walker ) and in some procridine Zygaenidae of the Artona Walker generic complex. The structure is typical of the genus, with extensive modification of the male second and third tergites, and long, slender processes on the costa and sacculus of each valve, curved in opposition to each other.

The species is rare in lowland forest.
