Image of Negeta aureata Holloway ♂

Negeta aureata Holloway sp. n.

♂♂ 9-10mm*.* This species is smaller than contrariata. The forewing is a more golden brown, darkening towards the apex, where the costal triangle is deeper.

The postmedial is fainter, curved slightly parallel to the margin rather than being straight, and therefore closer to it centrally.

In the male genitalia the uncus is narrower, less bulbousthan in contrariata; the harpe on the valve is not bulbous apically.

The genitalia are closer to those of the N.E. Himalayan N. soliera Swinhoe, which has a darker forewing with an obscure grey subapical costal triangle; the apex of the valve harpe is flexed at a right-angle.
