Micrulia medioplaga Swinhoe
Mariaba medioplaga Swinhoe, 1902, Trans. ent. Soc. Lond., 1902: 651.
Diagnosis
The male is similar in its contrasting fasciated indigo forewings and yellow hindwings to Hybridoneura picta Warren, but the hindwings are diagnostically modified: triangular, weakly banded, with the distal margin scrolled over dorsally. The underside is more strongly banded, the forewing basally yellow too. The female has forewings and hindwings similar, fasciated indigo-brown, much as in the next species, but the underside is fasciated more weakly with brown rather than strongly in dark, dull blue.
Geographical Range
Borneo, Bali, Sulawesi, Sri Lanka.
Habitat Preference
Most of the few records are from lowland forest, including secondary and coastal forest, but a female was taken in lower montane forest at 900m on the limestone G. Api.
