“Microphaea” orientalis Hampson
Microphaea orientalis Hampson, 1918, Novit. zool., 25: 176.
Diagnosis and taxonomic note
This species could be compared with some species of the geometrid genus Scopula Curtis in general shape and facies, but has faint black discal marks that are bipunctate rather than entire. The wings are otherwise a medium grey with only a hint of fasciation, the most obvious being a paler submarginal band, that on the forewing having a central kink, and that on the hindwing being obtusely angled. These facies characters indicate that it is probably misplaced in its genus of original description.
Geographical range
Borneo.
Habitat preference
The species has not been taken in recent surveys and is known only from the holotype female from Pulo Laut.
