Mesasteria sanguilinea Hampson

Mesasteria sanguilinea Hampson, 1926, Descr. Gen. Spec. Lep

Diagnosis

Though the same size and shape as species of Condate, the facies is very different. The forewing fasciation is diffuse, darker reddish and transverse rather than clearly defined, oblique and, in the case of the postmedial, angled as in Condate. The forewing reniform is picked out irregularly in pale yellow, with two of the diffuse fasciae basal to it and two distal to it.

Geographical range

Borneo.

Habitat preference

The only specimen is the holotype from Sandakan on the coast of Sabah.
