Meekistrotia quinquemaculata Holloway sp. n.

Image of [object Object] Holloway ♂ (paratype)
♂ (paratype)

♂♂, ♀ 7mm. This species and molybdota are smaller than meeki and bacchusi, with a paler, bone-coloured ground to the forewing. This species is marked with three transverse black bars from the dorsum over the basal half of the wing, only the first reaching the costa and the second being somewhat greyer and the shortest of the three. There are two round black patches submarginally, and the apical margin of the wing is also lined with black, the interior edge of this being evenly concave. In molybdota the two more distal bars are conjoined through expansion basad of the more distal one, and the posterior submarginal patch is more linear, consisting of three smaller patches aligned parallel to the margin and fused together; in fact this submarginal row in molybdota is more as in meeki and bacchusi. The male genitalia are similar to those of bacchusi, but the uncus is relatively longer, and the taper to the valves commences slightly more basally. Those of molybdota have the valves narrow and with a slight taper over the whole of the distal half.
