Diagnosis
The white wings very lightly striated and fasciated with black and brown render this species the palest in the genus; only the forewing costa is significantly darkened.
Taxonomic Notes
Hampson stat. rev. (S. India) has sometimes been considered a race of luteipes but the male genitalia are distinctive, the valve with a basal spur on the costa twice as long as in luteipes and a more broadly lobed distal margin and a small interior flap. A taxon in Sulawesi with similar facies to luteipes is distinct, the male genitalia (slide 17156) having a more simple, thorn- shaped valve, lacking a basal spur.

N.E. Himalaya, Sundaland.
Habitat Preference
is commoner than the previous two species but distributed over a similar altitude range in montane vegetation types.
