Diagnosis
This is a slightly larger and paler species than the previous one, with the medial zone of green on the wings broader, on the hindwing more oblique.
Taxonomic Notes
The species is distinct from subtractata in both facies (see above) and male genitalia. In the latter, subtractata has the valve apex more acute and the oblique groove more curved. The margin of the eighth sternite is setose, obtusely cleft in spumifera, unmodified in subtractata.
Geographical range
Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Java, Bali.
Habitat preference
In recent surveys singletons have been taken in upper montane forest at 1760 on G. Kinabalu and in lower montane forest at 1000m on G. Mulu.
