Homodes bracteigutta Walker
Philecia bracteigutta Walker, 1862, List Specimens lepid. Insects Colln Br. Mus., 24: 1088.
Homodes erizesta Turner, 1902, Proc. Linn. Soc. N.S.W., 27: 110.
Diagnosis
This is a paler red species than perilitha, and has the postmedials fainter, more entire, irregularly lunulate. The submarginal row of dark dashes is particularly prominent, set within a paler, pinker band (the Indian Subregion species fulva shares this feature but has much more regular, linear fasciae on the forewing and postmedially on the hindwing).
Geographical range
India, Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Saleyer, New Guinea, northern Australia.
Habitat preference
The species has not been recorded in recent surveys. The type material of bracteigutta is from Sarawak, collected by A.R. Wallace. There is material from near Pontianak in Kalimantan and from Telong-Siong. It is probably a lowland species.
