Diagnosis
This and the next species have relatively deep forewings, particularly latipennis. They also are characterised by a pale submarginal spot centrally on the hindwing.
G. latipennis* is smaller, darker.
G. albicaudata* Warren has bone-white scent-pencils on the male genitalia, though these are otherwise very similar.
Taxonomic Notes
The taxon nepotalis Prout from Java is intermediate in appearance between this and the next species. It was originally described as a subspecies of latipennis. It is given specific status here, stat. n., pending a review of the complex based on longer series: only the holotype of nepotalis is currently available.
Geographical Range
Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo.
Habitat Preference
A female has been taken in lowland alluvial forest and two males in lower montane forest (900m on G. Api, 1000m on G. Mulu) during the Mulu survey.
