Diagnosis
The pale fawn hooked mark on the otherwise dark brown forewing is diagnostic.
Taxonomic Notes
Tymbal organs are lacking.
The genitalia have a long, slender tegumen that overlaps the vinculum, the latter giving rise to a long, digitate saccus.
The valves are short, their processes large, distally swollen prior to the acute apex.
Thus both facies and genitalia are distinctive within the complex.
Geographical range
Himalaya, Burma, Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Philippines, Sulawesi.
Habitat preference
The species is infrequent in lowland forest, and three specimens were taken in lower montane forest on the limestone G. Api during the Mulu survey.
Biology
Mathur (1942) recorded the larva as defoliating Pterospermum (Sterculiaceae) in India.
