Fascellina albicordis Prout
Fascellina albicordis Prout, 1932, J. fed. Malay States Mus. 17: 94.
Fascellina albicordis Prout; Holloway, 1976: 77.
Diagnosis
The wings are a rich, blackish brown with a very prominent white discal patch on the forewings; this latter is smaller or absent in castanea which also has a greener tinge to the wings. In castanea the forewing postmedial below has a much stronger angle subcostally, the distal border of a darker brown bar. On the hindwing below, the medial and submarginal fasciae fade away towards the tornus and are convergent. In castanea they are more uniform in development, diverge, then converge and enclose a brown discal mark.
