Eupithecia tabidaria Inoue
Eupithecia tabidaria Inoue, 1955, Tinea, 2: 82.
Diagnosis
This is a smaller, more uniformly dark grey species than the preceding two, and is best identified from the male abdomen where the octavals, though close to each other, are separate rather than fused, and the saccus is distinctly excavate, a feature diagnostic for the species more generally.
Geographical Range
Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Borneo.
Habitat Preference
Only three specimens have been taken, all during the Mulu survey. One was taken in upper montane forest at 1780m on G. Mulu and the others were taken at 1200m in montane scrub on the pinnacle karst area of the limestone G. Api.
Biology
In Japan (Inoue et al., 1982) the species has been reared from Clematis (Ranunculaceae).
