Diagnosis

The rather straight white fasciation with a broadly dark triangular area based on the forewing costa and extending to the discal spot and postmedial are distinctive features. There are subtornal white expansions to the submarginal on both wings.

Geographical Range

Indian Subregion, Taiwan, Japan, Borneo, Java, Bali.

Habitat Preference

The species is infrequent from 1500m to 2110m on G. Kinabalu, and a single specimen has been taken at 1780m on G. Mulu.

Biology

In Japan the host-plant is Stephania (Menispermaceae) introduced from Taiwan (Inoue, 1979, 1988).
