Diagnosis
The forewing is pale, with broken brown fasciae and longitudinal streaks and a small, pale, oval subtornal patch.
The hindwing fasciation is straight, the apex rounded with slight dentations at the veins, rather than being excavate as in the only other species with straight fasciae.
Taxonomic Notes
Warren attributed this species to Hampson, but no earlier reference has been located.
A note by A. Watson in the BMNH collection indicates that Neophalacra laticornis Roepke (Sumatra) is probably a synonym, but the type has not been located.
Geographical range
Borneo, ?Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia.
Habitat preference
The holotype is from the Matang Road in the lowlands of Sarawak and there is a second, less heavily marked male from Sarawak but without precise data.
Biology
H. Steiner (in litt.) has reared the species in Peninsular Malaysia.
The host-plant was the palm, Plectocomiopsis geminiflorus.
