Diagnosis

This and E. nigrifrons* Warren are very similar in facies and genitalic features. The darker fasciae on the forewings of vacuefacta tend to be evenly emphasised across the wing or more intense posteriorly, whereas in nigrifrons they are darker from the prominent discal streak towards the apex and to the margin over the interior third. In the male genitalia the valve costa is straight or convex in vacuefacta and concave in the only Bornean male of nigrifrons dissected, and the saccular flap of vacuefacta is somewhat longer. In the female, the corpus bursae is ovate in nigrifrons and more pyriform in vacuefacta.
