Diagnosis

See the generic account. The wings are medium darkish brown, the forewing with a large, darker triangle from the costa to the discal area. Just distal to this is a sinuous transverse pale fascia post medial that cuts off a darker marginal zone within which there is a partially  zigzag, partially arcuate, pale submarginal. In argenticincta the forewing is more variegate and the postmedial is more irregular.

Geographical range

Borneo.

Habitat preference

This is an infrequent lowland species, with its highest record from 250m. It has been recorded from primary dipterocarp forest, heath forest and coastal forest, and also from softwood plantations (Chey, 1994) and disturbed areas with secondary forest.
