Hyria grataria

Diagnosis

The facies is similar to that of plumbacea but with the shading and fasciation vinous red rather than grey. The fringes of both wings are more distinctly yellow, those of the forewing interrupted by darker scales.

Biology

Singh (1953) described the larva (as Cambogia marginata Warren) from spirit-preserved material. The body setae are long, fine, borne on chalazae and elongate projections. The prolegs have a high number (up to 14) of external setae. The host-plant was Mallotus (Euphorbiaceae).
