Diagnosis
This and the next species are very similar in wing markings, but D. glaucescens has the hindwing discal spot smaller, longer transversely.
The hindwing postmedial is more arcuate in each space, and the yellow at the tornal angle extends well interior to the postmedial (stopping at it in transducta). *Taxonomic note.
D. cancellata* Bastelberger, described from Borneo, appears to be based on an aberrant specimen of transducta or the next species.
Geographical range
Burma, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference
Recent records have been from lowland alluvial forest near G. Mulu, specimens being taken flying by day and at light at night.
Barlow (1982) notes it also from hill-top clearings.
Biology
The larva and pupa are illustrated by Barlow (1982). The former is greenish yellow with numerous black dots, particularly in an irregular lateral row.
The black dots are often highlighted by electric pale blue.
The pupa is similar but duller, less spotted.
The host-plant is Carallia. Oviposition is singly at dusk on the undersides of leaves low on the plant (Barlow, 1982).
