Diagnosis
Smaller than congeners, holophaea is distinguished by the forewing postmedial meeting the dorsum at a point well basal to the tornus rather than at the tornus.
Taxonomic notes
Kobes (1997) suggested that hollowayi, based on males, might be conspecific with holophaea, based on females. The taxa are therefore brought into synonymy, as this marriage appears highly possible.
Geographical range
Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference
Bornean material seen is restricted to a single female collected in the 19th Century from Telong-Siong.
